Website Promotion or Website Building. Which One Do You Do First?
September 28, 2007
The simple answer is both. That is of course unless you’re a black belt to the 3rd degree black hat master. Those guys have the ability to churn out hundreds of sites with thousands of pages. Then turn around and send a tsunami of traffic to the site in the time it takes to watch an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
So, since we don’t fall into that category we need to both build our website and generate traffic to it at the same time. The process of building a website to make money with is a never ending pickle, so why wait to generate traffic to your site.
Side Note: That is unless of course you’re building content sites and monetizing them for the sole purpose of generating clicks on pay per click ads such as with Google adsense. That of course is another topic will discuss later.
We’ll first talk about building your site. Website building can be a tough process for those of us who don’t have a great relationship with their computer. Many people want to create a website, but have no experience in website building, know nothing about web design and have never even seen an HTML editor. In the old days, website building was a gruesome process that required tons of skill.
You don’t have to be a website design wiz, or a website building genius, you just have to follow simple instructions. It seems as though every software company out there has a website design program or site builder of some sort, and there are many website building companies.
Most people who want to create a website are specialists in their area, but don’t know a great deal about website building. Even if you’re used to website building with HTML and coding, you end up wasting energy, money, and time on your web design. And we all know that having creative freedom over our own web design should make website building fun.
Some of the reasons you don’t do the building yourself might include: cost, lack of HTML skill, unreliable website building software, and time.
